How the PADI Open Water Referral Works

During your referral program, you will complete the four required open-water training dives over two days with a PADI Instructor.

Day One — Shore Training Dives

Your first two open-water training dives are normally completed from shore. Your instructor will review your referral paperwork, confirm your readiness, help you get comfortable with the equipment, and guide you through the required open-water skills in a relaxed training environment.

Day Two — Two-Tank Boat Dive

Your final two open-water training dives are completed during one two-tank boat trip. This allows you to finish your certification while experiencing Cozumel's beautiful reef diving under the supervision of your instructor.

These dives are not just about completing requirements. They are your first real open-water training dives as a developing scuba diver, and our goal is to help you finish your certification with comfort, confidence, and a positive first experience diving in Cozumel.

Once all performance requirements are completed, we will process your PADI Open Water Diver certification.
